INTRODUCTION
Starting my first semester in the university felt exciting and frightening at the same time. Everything was new. The environment, the people, the lectures, and the responsibilities. At first, I struggled to adjust to university life because it was very different from secondary school.
THE CHALLENGE OF ADJUSTING TO UNIVERSITY LIFE
Transitioning from secondary school to university was not easy. The academic system, learning environment, and level of independence required were all unfamiliar. Adapting to these changes took time and effort as I learned how to navigate my new surroundings.
LEARNING TIME MANAGEMENT
One of the biggest challenges I faced was time management. Lectures were stressful, assignments came quickly, and I had to learn how to study independently. Sometimes I felt overwhelmed, especially during tests and deadlines. Over time, I began to organize my schedule better and manage my responsibilities more effectively.
THE IMPORTANCE OF FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT
Making friends also helped me survive my first semester. I met classmates who supported and encouraged me whenever school became stressful. Group discussions and shared experiences made university life easier and less lonely. Having a support system played an important role in helping me adjust.
UNDERSTANDING FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Another lesson I learned was financial management. I had to budget carefully because university expenses appeared almost every week. Learning how to manage my money helped me avoid unnecessary spending and prepared me to handle financial responsibilities more wisely.
THE VALUE OF REST AND SELF-CARE
I also learned how important rest and self-care are during stressful periods. Taking breaks, getting enough rest, and maintaining a healthy balance between academics and personal well-being helped me stay focused and motivated throughout the semester.
CONCLUSION
Although my first semester was not perfect, it taught me resilience, independence, and discipline. Looking back now, I realize that the difficult moments helped me grow stronger and more confident as a student. The experiences and lessons I gained during that period have prepared me for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in my university journey.
